Model-based fault diagnosis of selective catalytic reduction for a smart cogeneration plant running on fast pyrolysis bio-oil

The paper puts forward a method for the detection of hydrothermal aging selective catalytic reduction (SCR) units. First, dynamic model SCR performance including heat transfer, ammonia adsorption, NOx reduction, and oxidation is developed. then parameterized tuned with respect to published experimental data two units before after aging. Such tuning also determines target parameters most relevant constant terms in reaction rates are identified parameters. Next, model-based algorithm proposed which based on non-linear parameter estimation techniques. tested via numerical simulation scenarios generated by high fidelity cogeneration plant running fast pyrolysis biooil. Satisfactory robustness fault illustrated when it subject measurement noise varying operating conditions.
